Our Story – Built with Heart, Grown with Love
The Dove’s Nest began with a simple idea: to share the peace, beauty, and warmth of our little corner of paradise with others. Long before we welcomed travelers from around the world, we rented our rooms to local tenants year-round. But everything changed when we decided to try seasonal vacation rentals.
Our very first guests were a group of friendly Italians, full of joy and generosity. They invited us to dinner more than once, and we instantly fell in love with the energy, the exchange of cultures, and the friendships that blossomed so naturally. That experience sparked a new passion—and we knew we wanted to do more.
At the time, we had just four one-bedroom units, but the joy of hosting inspired us to grow. We added four more units—three two-bedroom and one more one-bedroom—to create a space that could welcome more families, couples, and friends seeking meaningful escapes. Alongside the expansion came a proper parking area and our now-beloved Dove Rock: an outdoor barbecue space carved into the hillside, where during high season we host weekly gatherings.
Every week, guests bring their favorite drink or snack, we cook up homemade local dishes, and the evening turns into a vibrant celebration of laughter, music, and connection. These nights often mark the beginning of lifelong friendships. Many guests return again and again—some even coordinate their travel dates to reunite here.

At the heart of The Dove’s Nest is our family:
-
Émile, the visionary and builder, brought this guesthouse to life with the help of friends—no blueprints, just heart and hard work. A businessman at his core, he’s still the one fixing, tending, and making sure everything runs smoothly.
-
Suzy, his wife, is the soul of the place. She greets guests with a smile, shares fruits from the garden, might hand you a taste of local punch, and always ensures you have what you need—from fresh towels to friendly conversation.
-
Émilie, the eldest daughter, officially joined the business in 2025. She manages reservations, the website, and guest services—but she’s also very hands-on, present on-site, helping with weekly room care and making sure everything feels just right.
-
Melissa, the middle daughter, is currently away studying. But when she returns for vacations, she jumps right back in—chatting with guests, sharing stories of her travels, and offering help wherever needed.
-
James, the youngest, has recently joined the French military and is currently stationed abroad. Though he's committed for five years, we know he’ll return when he can—to visit, lend a hand, and bring stories from far away.
The Dove’s Nest isn’t just a place to stay—it’s a place where visitors become regulars, and regulars become friends. Built from the ground up with love and care, we continue to do what we love: sharing our home, our island, and our hearts, one guest at a time.
